30 Years of KenSigns

Established in 1979, by me “One Man Band”, Ken Moate.
Inspiration came from a good friend and experienced sign writer, Bob from RET signs of
Peterborough, who allowed me to accompany him on
pretty much all kinds of sign writing jobs. From then on I was a sign blooded person and was
determined to earn my living within the sign industry.
Fast forward to 2009. So much has moved on in 30 years, and so has KenSigns. One thing hasn't changed – we still offer all of this with the same old fashioned service, courtesy and “the customer is always right” culture. After 30 years it just comes naturally. A low staff turn-around has meant we have vastly experienced sign makers and fitters, who have probably encountered nearly any challenge that can be thrown at them. This saves money because a job can be finished expertly at a pretty good pace, meaning less hours on the job without cutting corners. Of course, they can trouble shoot as they go along too, which can result in an even better finished sign project, avoiding possible future problems and importantly, reducing any extra costs that can pop up during the project. So “NO HIDDEN EXTRAS”.
Our pricing strategy is definitely on the side of the customer, hence a strong and healthy customer
base. It's an old cliché but true, it's easier to keep the customers you've got than to try and find new ones. Even though so many customers may, supposedly, only need us once for that fascia or simple vehicle livery, it's amazing how many come
back after so many years, and even apologise for not having signage more regularly!. Sometimes
even more than 20/25 years and we remember most of them even if they have aged (and of course,
we haven't).
